On August 20, the finals of the 2020 “Maker China” Jilin Province SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were successfully held. This competition aims to unleash innovative potential, pool entrepreneurial resources, enhance the specialized capabilities and levels of SMEs, and promote the transformation, upgrading, and growth of SMEs into “Little Giant” enterprises that are specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative—thus contributing to the building of a manufacturing powerhouse and a cyber power. The competition is hosted by the Jilin Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Jilin Provincial Department of Finance, organized by the Jilin Provincial SME Development Service Center and Baidu Innovation Factory Group Co., Ltd., and supported as a co-organizer by the Jilin Provincial Entrepreneurship Incubation Alliance.
The “Maker China” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises has been held consecutively for five years now. This year, the province received a total of 506 project applications, covering a wide range of fields including epidemic prevention and control, biometric identification, industrial design, and optoelectronic information. The quality of this year’s entries was exceptionally high—featuring not only groundbreaking new ideas that break with tradition and boldly embrace innovation, but also cutting-edge technologies developed entirely in-house and boasting strong potential for widespread adoption. After nearly half a year of intense competition involving preliminary and semi-final reviews, a total of 16 projects have advanced to the final round. Researchers from Changguang Chenspu presented their micro imaging spectrometer project—based on chip coating—to the competition judges and stood out among many outstanding entries, earning them the second prize in this year’s competition.
Changguang Chenspu will stay true to its original aspiration and keep moving forward!
